Platinum Consort, directed by Scott Inglis-Kidger, explores the many varied expressions of the darkness of Passiontide with this programme of Renaissance choral music. This liturgical period has evoked some of the most highly-charged music ever written. Victoria’s stripped back, almost desolate, Lamentations for Holy Saturday are juxtaposed with the overtly rich textures of Browne’s Stabat Mater and Taverner’s Dum transisset Sabbatum.
