LYRIC OPERA joins forces with the world-renowned PALESTRINA CHOIR to present Handel’s great oratorio, Messiah for a special Christmas treat.
In an evocative candle-lit setting on stage at the National Opera House, this will be a spectacular and elegant way to celebrate the glory of Christmas with an oratorio that captures the true spirit of Christmas.
With Irish and International soloists including international rising star, Claudia Boyle– Soprano, returning from English National Opera, with Mezzo soprano Sharon Carthy – flying in from Frankfurt, Andrew Gavin – Tenor having just completed a season with Wexford Festival Opera and Belfast Bass Baritone – Timothy Murphy returning to Ireland from the Royal Opera House.
The LYRIC OPERA ORCHESTRA and the internationally acclaimed PALESTRINA CHOIR will be conducted by the choir’s director, Blanaid Murphy. This will be a glorious evening to herald in this special season. This Christmas evening will be directed by Vivian Coates.
